Thanks for reading ladies and lads, keep your stick on the ice.Welcome to /r/Watches, a community for watch & horology discussion. The only gripe would be I love the genuine Isofrane straps, but this integrated rubber one is pretty great in its own regard. It is, in my opinion, the perfect dive watch. But this Oris Aquis in 41.5 really is something special once you have it in hand. I buy and sell all the time, and I do it for my own interests, and definitely not to make money. The Oris calibre 400 has similar specs to the new master coaxial movement, with silicon hairspring, naturally antimagnetic, but the Oris boats a far greater power reserve with its twin barrels while maintaining a 28,800 BPH. And for a 5000 dollar watch, that’s not good enough. I recently had issues with a brand new Omega that needed a service (under warranty). I also have sold off some other well recognized pieces for watches that I simply like more, but might not get as much of the “nod” from the watch community. I simply prefer the Oris and it’s new cutting edge movement to many other brands. And this Oris has quality way above its price point. So why do I prefer the Oris? Because I recently decided to buy what I like and fuck everything else. The the reason it hasn’t got more appreciation IMO is people generally say: “why spend that kind of money on an Oris when you could get a Tudor”? This is a great point, and in reality the Tudor will resell at higher value, the Tudor has more brand recognition, and the the Aquis cal 400 has cousins with sellita movements that look virtually identical for less than half the price! So to continue my little rant, the new oris 41.5 aquis in calibre 400 really is a cut above the rest in value. /r/WatchExchange for buying, selling, trading watchesīanner photo courtesy of /u/northscylla Please take a look at our community rules and FAQ before contributing!īefore I start to rave about this watch, I’d like to say I’ve owned many of the well known high end sports brands, and they are all great watches./r/WatchHorology our sister subreddit for horology, watch appreciation, history, technical discussion and related topics.Simple Questions and Recommendations ThreadĬome hang out in the Official /r/Watches Discord!
